In lieu of Spring...

Why is it always that the best things in life are always the things that have the shortest life span. Maybe it's to teach us to value the beauty or the sanctity of life. It's nothing that we can change, we can only be thankful for it's short presence. Such as the beauty of the Sakura (Cherry Blossoms), which only bloom for a maximum of 2 weeks here.

For the longest time I have been wanting to do a photoshoot with the Cherry Blossoms, but for the past few years I wasn't ever able to find the opportunity, that is until this year. It was very awkward timing, with winter lasting long into spring, it wasn't warm enough for the trees to bloom until mid May this year. Let me just say, it was completely worth the wait. The park we shot at was High Park, in Toronto. There were no words to describe the effect the Sakura has on you. A beautiful yet nostalgic scenery the park posed, with people having picnics under the falling petals of the Sakura. I wish I could have captured its beauty to at least a mere amount.

This was a short shoot, lasting less than 1hr but i did manage to get a few decent shots in. Thanks to both my sisters for their help, Bao (model) and Kaying (make up artist) who's blog can be found here ---> http://makeupwithkaying.blogspot.com/

First Boudoir Shoot

I did a trial boudoir shoot a while ago with a friend (beautiful I know right?) and the shoot when surprisingly well. I didn't have any lighting equipment so we had to make due with the hopeful sun that day whom kept creeping in and out of the clouds. Thanks Vy for being a super sexy model!! xo!

A Cold Winter's Day

It is amazing what conditions photographers will go through to get a few good shots. Earlier this winter I decided to do a shoot with my younger sister Bao. Although the sun was there for the majority of the shoot, it was quite the deception as it was ridiculously freezing cold minus 10 (at the least!) I could only withstand  the cold for 30 mins so the shoot was rather short. Needless to say I was happy with some of the shots.

Hello Studio!

I've been shooting now for a little over 2 years but up until recently I had never had the chance to work in an actual studio. I can't say it was the most professional studio ever BUT it did the job and the Photographers equipment was just as well professional as any. Simona, a good friend of mine, happily obliged to be my model for the day. (If you follow my work, you've most likely seen her in my previous blogs). Another upside to having beautiful friends (as a photographer) is that you get to shoot them for free! This was more so a trial shoot, since Greg & I were just testing out the waters with the studio. But it was fun nonetheless, also a great learning opportunity.
